3-Hydroxyphenazepam with a CAS number of 70030-11-4, a chemical formula of C15H10BrClN2O2, an IUPAC name of 7-bromo-5-(2-chlorophenyl)-1,3-dihydro-3-hydroxy-2H-1,4-benzodiazepin-2-one, and a molecular mass of 365.6. Since the chemical is so new we will look at its analogue to learn more which is Etizolam.

Etizolam referred to as 1-Methyl-6-o-chlorophenyl-8-ethyl-4H-s-triazolo[3,4-c]thieno[2,3-e]1,4-diazepine with a systematic name of 4-(2-Chlorophenyl)-2-ethyl-9-methyl-6H-thieno[3,2-f][1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-a][1,4]diazepine is a benzodiazepine analog.

The difference between Etizolam and other benzodiazepines is that the benzene ring is replaced with a thiophene ring which makes Etizolam a thienodiazepine.

The molecular formula for Etizolam is C17H15ClN4S with an average mass of 342.845795 Da and a monoistopic mass of 342.070587 Da.

Research on Etizolam was conducted by ACD/Labs’ and US Environmental Protection Agency’s EPISuite. Properties that were predicted by ACD/Labs showed 4 #H bond acceptors, 0 #H bond donor, 2 #Freely rotating bonds, index of refraction at 1.734 with a surface tension of 53.9±7.0 dyne/cm, a flash point of 283.6±32.9 °C and a boiling point of 545.3±60.0 °C at 760 mmHg.

Properties that were predicted by the US Environmental Protection Agency’s EPISuite showed the boiling point at 470.74, melting point at 198.93, and the vapor pressure estimations at 2.19E-009. The report also showed water solubility at 25 deg C (mg/L): 0.146. The removal to wastewater treatment was 38.38% total removal, 0.39% biodegradation, 37.99% sludge adsorption, and 0.00% to air.
